Minister lauds Pakistan-Norway MoU for training and certification of seafarers

Pakistan and Norway inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the training and certification of Pakistani seafarers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to a statement, an MoU was signed between the Pakistani Embassy in Norway and the Maritime Authority

Welcoming the development, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry said that maritime cooperation between Pakistan and Norway will be further strengthened.

He added that the agreement will create new employment opportunities in the maritime sector, saying that Pakistani seafarers will be able to serve on Norwegian-flagged vessels.

“The agreement is an important milestone for the Pakistani workforce in the global shipping industry,” Junaid Anwar Chaudhry was quoted as saying

Opportunities to gain practical experience in modern maritime practices will increase, the minister added.
