Under the dynamic and result-oriented leadership of Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, operations against illegal encroachments in Islamabad are underway without discrimination in accordance with a zero-tolerance policy.
The campaign aims to reclaim state land and property from illegal occupation, restore civic order, and transform Islamabad into a clean, green, safe, beautiful, eco-friendly, and tourism-friendly model capital.
Under the leadership of CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Sohail Ashraf, and the supervision of Deputy DG Enforcement and CEO of MCI Dr. Anam Fatima, teams from the CDA and MCI are conducting anti-encroachment operations in a coordinated manner. Through this "Whole-of-Government Approach," effective coordination among various agencies ensures that the operations, monitoring, and follow-up are carried out successfully.
Under a zero-tolerance policy, indiscriminate action is being taken against illegal constructions, commercial extensions, kiosks, roadside stalls, encroachments on green belts and footpaths, and the unauthorized commercial use of government land and residential properties.
Operations in various areas—including Saidpur Village, Noorpur Shahan, the Islamabad Expressway, and Tarnol—have resulted in the removal of illegal structures and encroachments, the recovery of valuable government land, and the restoration of public thoroughfares. Operations are also underway in markets, residential sectors, service roads, and green belts.
During the campaign, thousands of kanals of state land, properties, and commercial assets worth billions of rupees have been reclaimed. The removal of encroachments has led to significant improvements in traffic flow, pedestrian walkways, green belts, parks, and the overall urban environment. The anti-encroachment drive is also garnering public appreciation. These transparent, sustained, and impartial actions are being hailed as a significant step toward effective governance and the uniform application of the law, with public sentiment expressing sentiments such as "Well Done Mohsin Naqvi."
