Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced Pakistan squads for the ODI series against New Zealand starting January 9, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Along expected lines, Baber Azam is leading the team in the limited-overs series while the probable list does not include Fakhar Zaman, Khushdil Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi (injured), and Zahid Mehmood, who were members of the team during the ODI series against the Netherlands.
For the three ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League matches against New Zealand that will be contested at the National Bank Cricket Arena on January 9, 11, and 13, the interim national selection committee has named 21 players.
Following the end of the Pakistan Cup and during the second Test between Pak-NZ, which will also be played here from 2–6 January, the selectors will reveal the 16-player squad.
Sharjeel Khan has been picked up as the opener who played his last ODI in 2017, and Shan Masood, who took part in five ODIs against Australia in the UAE in 2019, has also been included on the probable list.
Six players who have yet to participate in an ODI were chosen by the selectors. They are Tayyab Tahir, Abrar Ahmed, Aamer Jamal, Ihsanullah, Kamran Ghulam, and Qasim Akram.
