Police in Karachi and Chakwal have arrested more than 165 illegal Afghans during a crackdown, launched after Pakistan struck dozens of targets inside Afghanistan as part of Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East in Karachi said that more than 20 illegal Afghans were arrested from Sohrabgoth area of Karachi. Later, all these Afghans were shifted to police stations.
Police also arrested four illegal Afghan nationals from the Defence area. Police officials said that these Afghans nationals will be shifted to a transit camp after completion of the legal and verification process.
Senior Superintendent of Police City Arif AZIZ said that 98 illegal Afghans were arrested in Malir during targeted and combing operations.

The combing operation was supervised by SSP ARIF AZIZ, during which many residential areas, hotels, hotspts, and houses were raided.
The police conducted a door-to-door search operation after conducting a sweep of the area. The majority of Afghan nationals were arrested through hotel apps and talaish lab due to the prevailing security situation of the country.
Police in Chakwal have arrested 44 illegal Afghan nationals during door-to-door checking in Chakwal.
Police said that during the operation, 63 houses were thoroughly searched and 544 people were checked.
The police took the custody of illegal Afghan nationals and shifted them to a holding camp for further procedure.
On February 24, 2025, law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) arrested 36 illegal Afghan nationals during an ongoing crackdown against illegal Afghan nationals in different cities of Punjab.
Operations against illegal Afghan nationals were conducted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Murree.
Law-enforcement agencies' personnel also recovered a huge quantity of illegal weapons and narcotics, and Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) from the arrested Afghan nationals.
The State clearly delivered its message that only legal people will be allowed to live in Pakistan, and operations against illegal Afghan nationals will be carried out without any discrimination.
