Pakistani singer and actress Mamya Shajaffar turned heads at the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) as she attended the premiere of her debut film in a striking, avant-garde ensemble that blended traditional craftsmanship with high-fashion drama.
Sharing a carousel of photos from the festival on Instagram, Mamya expressed heartfelt gratitude and excitement over the milestone moment.
“Sorry for I feel fulfilled so I won’t shut up about this for a bit,”she wrote. “When you work with honesty, it validates you at the perfect time. Some of us dream big, some of us live big. I am grateful that I am the latter.”
She thanked filmmaker Sarmad Khoosat for his vision and credited the entire team behind the project, calling the experience “addictively satisfying.” The film premiered at Berlinale, marking Mamya’s first-ever film appearance a moment she said “still hasn’t sunk in.”
Mamya went on to acknowledge her co-stars, editors, cinematographers, sound designers, and production team, praising their dedication and creativity. She also revealed having a “fan moment” with Nimra Bucha, calling the interaction an “ego boost.”
Her outfit, designed by Jeevan by Hussain Rehar, received widespread praise online, with Mamya noting that the ensemble left “everyone in awe.”
Mamya walked the red carpet in an oversized, structured cream jacket adorned with tiered red and gold teardrop embellishments and intricate embroidery.
She paired the statement piece with a coordinated mini skirt featuring a rich gold and brown brocade-inspired pattern, completing the look with sleek black pointed-toe heels accented by a delicate gold strap. Gold-toned drop earrings and a polished high bun added a refined finishing touch.
