Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, to discuss the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the Foreign Office said in a statement on Sunday.
During the call, the two foreign ministers held an in-depth discussion on the ongoing situation in Gaza, expressing grave concern over the escalating genocide and the mounting human suffering in the besieged Palestinian territory.
According to the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, both sides emphasized the urgent need for immediate humanitarian access to Gaza and highlighted the importance of coordinated international efforts to lessen the crisis.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering and principled support for the Palestinian people and reaffirmed Islamabad's longstanding stance in favor of their just struggle for self-determination and statehood.
He expressed hope that the upcoming international conference on Palestine, scheduled to take place in New York, would yield constructive outcomes and lead to a greater global consensus on addressing the crisis.
Both Dar and Araghchi underscored the necessity of accelerating international efforts to achieve a two-state solution, in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Palestinian people.
The foreign ministers also discussed the possibility of exchanging high-level visits between Pakistan and Iran in the near future, hinting at a desire to further deepen bilateral cooperation and regional coordination.
