Pakistan and Qatar have vowed to deepen their security partnership, following talks between the interior ministers of the two countries in Doha, said a statement issued by the Interior Ministry in Islamabad on Tuesday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with his Qatari counterpart and Commander of Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani in Doha.
During the meeting, detailed exchange of views on enhancing bilateral cooperation in security-related sectors took place with both interior ministers laying focus on strengthening security partnership.
Both ministers also expressed the reaffirmation of commitment to cement bilateral cooperation between their ministries.
The two interior ministers also discussed the current situation in the region and peace and stability, emphasizing that mutual cooperation and partnership related to internal security will be strengthened. “A decision was made during the meeting,” the statement added.
Mohsin Naqvi said “We are determined to strengthen cooperation with Qatar in the fields of security and shared interests.”
Mohsin Naqvi also expressed condolences to his Qatari counterpart on the passing of his respected father, the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the invaluable services of former Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, in Qatar's construction and development.
On this occasion, Qatari interior minister said “We attach great importance to relations with Pakistan and will continue to work together to strengthen bilateral cooperation.”

Qatar is one of Pakistan’s closest partners in the Gulf, hosting hundreds of thousands of Pakistani workers and maintaining close cooperation with Islamabad in energy, investment and regional diplomacy.
Most recently, Doha and Islamabad have coordinated diplomatic efforts linked to regional stability, including engagements surrounding the conflict between the United States and Iran in the Middle East.

According to a statement issued by the Qatari Interior Ministry, Interior Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani on Monday held talks with his Pakistani counterpart Mohsin Naqvi on bilateral security ties.
“They discussed ways to further strengthen and develop them, in addition to exchanging views on several issues of mutual interest,” the Qatari ministry said on X.
