Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has shared a significant update regarding her ongoing legal case, asserting that forensic evidence has established the accused's involvement while firmly rejecting rumors that she accepted money or property in exchange for withdrawing the case.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the actress posted a strongly worded statement addressing the latest developments in the high-profile case and responding to speculation circulating on social media.
In her statement, Momina claimed that Saqib Khan Chadhar had been "proven guilty through forensic evidence" and alleged that Sumaira Khan had also joined the investigation.
She wrote: "Saqib Khan Chadhar - proven guilty through forensic evidence as well, and Sumaira Khan just joined the investigation knowing there is no mercy and no other option left."
Acknowledging that the legal proceedings are still underway, Momina said she understands some people would point out that no final sentence has yet been announced. However, she maintained that every legal development marks progress toward justice.
"I know some jahil will still say that the sentence hasn't been given yet. Obviously, he's an MPA; it's not that easy. There has been intimidation and pressure so that we withdraw the case, but every step is a milestone that brings us closer to the final destination punishment for the acts committed."
The actress also dismissed widespread rumors claiming she had reached an out of court settlement in exchange for money or land.
Responding to the speculation, she sarcastically wrote:
"And to those discussing how many crores or how many acres of land I accepted for a settlement do you think the accused and his wife come to court just for tea?"
Momina Iqbal has been embroiled in a high-profile legal dispute involving Punjab Assembly member Saqib Khan Chadhar and his wife, Sumaira Khan. According to the actress's family and information previously shared by her legal team, Chadhar had allegedly sent a marriage proposal to Momina. She later discovered that he was already married and rejected the proposal, after which she alleged that she was subjected to harassment and threats, leading her to pursue legal action.
The case remains before the courts. While Momina has made these allegations and claims regarding forensic evidence, the matter is still subject to ongoing legal proceedings, and no final judicial verdict has yet been announced.
