Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a new fitness policy for the domestic cricket season 2026-27, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to PCB, the new fitness policy will be applicable to regional, departmental, district and zonal teams.

A comprehensive fitness testing and fitness improvement plan has been introduced for players of all ages.

Director Sports and Exercise Medicine, Javed Mughal has prepared a two-tier fitness plan.

The new fitness policy has been formulated keeping in mind the requirements of international cricket.

Tier one will include regional, first-class and grade-2 departmental teams.

Tier two will include players from senior district, under-19, under-17 and under-15 teams.

Tier one players will take 11 different tests while tier two players will undergo a total of eight different tests.

A player who gets eight or more red scores in tier one will be declared fail.

A player with six or more red scores in tier two will be considered a failure in the fitness test.

Players who fail the fitness test will have to retake all the tests.

Successful players will be re-evaluated for fitness after six months.

PCB-approved strength and conditioning coaches will conduct fitness tests across the country.

Fitness test results will be sent to the National Cricket Academy and the Medical and Sports Science Department.
