The federal government on Tuesday announced an increase in the prices of petroleum products, raising the rates of both petrol and high-speed diesel with effect from midnight.
According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of petrol has been increased by Rs1.63 per litre, taking the new price to Rs335.81 per litre.
The price of high-speed diesel has also been increased by Rs1.55 per litre, with the new rate fixed at Rs388.38 per litre.
The revised prices will come into effect after 12:00 midnight, in accordance with the government's daily petroleum pricing mechanism.
The latest increase in petroleum prices is expected to impact transportation costs and could add to inflationary pressures across various sectors of the economy.
