Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar Sunday spoke by telephone with European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and discussed diplomatic efforts for peace and stability in the Middle East, the Foreign Office said.
A Foreign Office spokesperson said Kallas appreciated Pakistan’s efforts that led to the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
The EU foreign policy chief expressed serious concern over recent ceasefire violations and said channels of communication should remain open, according to the spokesperson.
Dar briefed Kallas on Pakistan’s continued diplomatic efforts for peace and stability in the Middle East.
He urged all parties to abide by the ceasefire agreement.
Pakistan and the European Union agreed to maintain close communication, the Foreign Office said.
