Pakistani actress and entrepreneur Komal Aziz Khan has become a major talking point on social media after opening up about moving out of her family home, embracing independent living and refusing to let society make decisions for her.
During a recent Instagram "Ask Me Anything" session, Komal answered several personal questions from her followers, sharing her honest views on marriage, family, education, and women's independence.
One of the biggest revelations from the Q&A came when a fan asked whether she lived with her family or on her own. Komal revealed that she moved out of her family home around one and a half years ago and now lives with her best friend and her pet cat.
However, she made it clear that choosing to live independently has not affected her close relationship with her family.
According to Komal, her family lives nearby and regularly send her homemade food, making her feel connected despite having her own place. Describing her current lifestyle, she said she couldn't be happier and called it the "best life ever."
When another follower asked why she had "left" her family, Komal rejected the idea that moving into her own home meant abandoning her loved ones.
Comparing life to baby birds eventually leaving their nest, she explained that becoming independent is a natural part of growing up.
She stressed that getting her own place simply meant taking responsibility for her own life, not distancing herself from her family.
In a light-hearted remark, she even encouraged others, especially married couples, to experience living independently, joking that "cutting the umbilical cord" is actually an attractive quality.
Komal also addressed the pressure many women face regarding marriage. When asked whether she ever feels pressured by family or friends to settle down, she replied that she has a very strong sense of self and never lets society decide what she wants from life.
With her trademark humour, she joked that she doesn't take pressure from anyone, she only knows how to give it.
Her empowering advice continued when a follower shared that her family was discouraging her from pursuing higher education and instead wanted her to get married. Responding to the fan, Komal encouraged women to remain determined and stubborn while fighting for their dreams.
She acknowledged that society can be challenging for women, saying that only those who are truly strong-willed and resilient are able to achieve real independence.
