Pakistani actress Sarwat Gilani shared her perspective on emotional loss during an appearance on a talk show with Nida Yasir.
Sarwat said that some of life's deepest grief comes from losing people who are still alive but no longer part of your life.
Sarwat explained that the end of a relationship, friendship or emotional connection can be just as painful as any other loss because there is no physical place to mourn.
Unlike death, she said, these relationships leave behind memories and unanswered emotions that makes them difficult to process.
She added that when people drift apart or communication ends, they continue living their own lives and remain emotionally absent.
According to Sarwat, this makes such experiences one of the "heaviest losses" a person can carry.
Agreeing with her, Nida Yasir pointed out that society gives people space to grieve after someone's death, but there is often no similar outlet for mourning broken relationships.
As a result, many people silently carry the pain of emotional separation without any formal way to express or release it.
