Two young men drowned while bathing at Hawks Bay beach in Karachi, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to rescue officials, both victims were pulled from the sea after a search operation.
The deceased were identified as 27-year-old Zubair and 18-year-old Zohaib.
Officials said the two men were bathing in the sea when they were swept away by strong currents.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene and recovered their bodies from the water.
The tragic incident has once again highlighted the dangers posed by rough sea conditions along Karachi’s coastline, particularly during periods of strong currents and high tides.
Authorities have advised citizens to follow safety instructions and avoid entering deep waters at beaches to prevent such incidents.
It is pertinent to mention that a similar tragedy occurred at Hawks Bay in August last year when two people lost their lives by drowning, while another was rescued.
Rescue teams had recovered one body and launched an operation to retrieve another victim who had gone missing in the sea.
