Two young men drowned in a small dam at a private farmhouse in the Thaneel Fatuhi area of Chakwal after one slipped into the water and the other jumped in to rescue him, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
According to Rescue 1122, 24-year-old Faheem Raza, son of Muhammad Raees, was working near the nearly 20-foot-deep dam when he accidentally slipped and fell into the water.
As he struggled to stay afloat, 27-year-old Qaiser Abbas, son of Ghulam Abbas, jumped into the dam in an attempt to save him.
However, Qaiser was unable to swim and also drowned.
Both men lost their lives in the incident before they could be rescued.
Rescue 1122 handed the bodies over to their families.
