A husband and wife were killed while their three children sustained injuries in a horrific road accident on Motorway M-2 near Pindi Bhattian, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to rescue officials, the accident occurred near Kot Sarwar Interchange when a speeding car suffered a tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control.
The rescue team said the vehicle overturned and crashed into a tree alongside the motorway.
As a result of the crash, 45-year-old Imran and his wife Farah died on the spot.
Their three children were injured in the accident.
Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene, provided emergency medical assistance and shifted the injured children to the Trauma Centre in Hafizabad for treatment.
Motorway Police reached the site soon after the accident and initiated legal proceedings.
Authorities have also launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
