Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain has said that in the current global context, the world is facing a major challenge regarding food security, while there is no threat of food crisis in Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to the media at Upper Mall in Lahore on Saturday, the federal minister said that Pakistan is trying to sell surplus food items to other countries, especially in the Middle East.
He said petroleum products have an impact on Pakistan's economy and if the current war is prolonged, it may further affect Pakistan's economy.
Rana Tanveer said under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, we have taken timely and effective decisions and have not let the burden fall on the people because when petroleum products become expensive, other goods also become expensive.
The government has not let the burden fall on the people by bearing 125 billion rupees itself, Rana Tanveer Hussain said adding that petroleum products have become an important issue in the countries of the world and people are standing in queues, but there is no crisis in the supply of petroleum products, gas and food in Pakistan at the moment.
In response to a question, the Federal Minister said that at the diplomatic level, in the last two years, Pakistan has a place in the world and we have very good relations with all countries.
He said we have very good relations with Iran. Today, Pakistan is playing a key role between the United States and Iran.
Rana Tanveer said Pakistan is trying to end the war, otherwise there is a risk that this war will spread.
We have been trying our best to stop this war from spreading in the world and end it through Pakistan, Rana Tanveer concluded.
