Bollywood and Tollywood stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna created a frenzy during a temple visit in Anantapur while filming their upcoming period drama Ranabaali.
Videos circulating online show Vijay shielding his wife as fans surged around the couple, turning what was meant to be a quiet outing into a viral moment.
The newly married duo, celebrating their one-month wedding anniversary, visited a Hanuman temple before heading to the film set. As fans and locals gathered in large numbers, Vijay was seen holding Rashmika close while security personnel worked to manage the crowd.
In one clip, Rashmika clutches Vijay’s waist as he looks concerned about the advancing crowd, ensuring she remains safe. Despite the chaos, the couple smiled and waved to fans, receiving blessings from the priests before being guided safely back to their car.
For the temple visit, Vijay donned a simple cream kurta while Rashmika opted for a blue suit set, complementing the serene yet celebratory atmosphere. After leaving the temple, the couple resumed shooting for Ranabaali, where the production team welcomed them back with a traditional harathi ceremony.
Rashmika was seen smiling at Vijay during the rituals, capturing a tender and joyful moment.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali is a historical action drama set between 1854 and 1878, exploring resistance against colonial rule and the impact of the Great Indian Famine. Vijay plays the titular role, with Rashmika portraying his wife, Jayamma, and Arnold Vosloo as the antagonist.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and T-Series, the film is set to release in theatres on September 11.
Ranabaali marks the third collaboration between the couple, following the successes of Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade, and their first project together since their wedding earlier this year. The couple got engaged in October last year and tied the knot in a private ceremony in Udaipur in February.
On the professional front, Rashmika will next be seen in Cocktail 2 and the Telugu film Mysaa, while Vijay is gearing up for his next Telugu project, Rowdy Janardhana.
