Violences of the ceasefire line by India continue in Azad Kashmir. In response to another breach of the Line of Control (LoC) in the Bhimber sector's Barnala-Chhamb area, Pakistani forces successfully shot down an Indian quadcopter.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, sources said this is the fourth quadcopter drone downed by the Pakistan Army in the Barnala sector within the past month, signalling increasing frequency of surveillance or provocations by Indian forces.
Recently, during India’s Operation "Sindoor," Indian forces reportedly deployed Israeli-made drones against Pakistan to target various installations. However, these UAVs were intercepted and destroyed mid-air by Pakistan’s advanced defence systems.
In retaliation, Pakistan launched its own counter-operation titled "Banyan-un-Marsoos", which involved precision strikes using drones and jet fighters against Indian military targets. This operation not only showcased Pakistan’s readiness but also served as a firm response to India’s aerial aggression.
According to multiple international media outlets, these skirmishes represent a new drone-based arms race in South Asia's already volatile nuclear environment. Both New Delhi and Islamabad are now heavily investing in UAV technology, aiming to strengthen their military capabilities without escalating to full-scale war.
India continues to work with Israel and domestic manufacturers, while Pakistan is expanding its UAV arsenal through partnerships with China and Turkey.
Experts note that drones have become a strategic tool for applying pressure without major escalation, allowing both sides to assert dominance while avoiding outright war.
As drone warfare becomes increasingly central to the India-Pakistan conflict narrative, the skies above the LoC remain on high alert.
