Pakistan said on Wednesday that once again Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given an inflammatory statement by distorting facts, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said that India, instead of bullying others, should hold itself accountable for the persecution of minorities. “Lynching of Muslims and other minorities in India by Hindu mobs has become an order of the day,” he said, adding, “These incidents of violence may win PM Modi elections, but certainly when it comes to the scrutiny by the outside world, these cannot be defended.”
“Pakistan demands India to abide by international rules and regulations,” he said, and added, “On the contrary, India’s threat to use water as a weapon against Pakistan shows it has little regard for these rules.”
Shafqat further said that the Modi government was involved in murdering leaders of separatist movements living abroad in exile. “India’s human rights record in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir is the worst.”
