Islamabad Traffic Police on Thursday issued a special traffic advisory for residents of the twin cities ahead of the arrival and movement of cricket teams for the upcoming Pakistan-Australia ODI series starting from 30th May, 24NewsHGD TV reported.
According to a police spokesperson, temporary traffic diversions will be imposed at different times on Club Road, Murree Road, the Expressway, and Srinagar Highway, which may disrupt the normal flow of traffic on these routes.
Authorities advised citizens to leave their homes 20 to 25 minutes earlier than usual while travelling and use alternative routes or service roads during diversion periods to avoid inconvenience.
The spokesperson said traffic personnel would be deployed at various points to assist commuters and ensure smooth traffic movement across the capital and adjoining areas.
Residents were also urged to stay updated through the Islamabad Traffic Police WhatsApp channel, social media platforms, and FM 92.4 for the latest traffic information.
The advisory comes ahead of the first ODI between the Pakistan national cricket team and Australia, scheduled to be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on May 30, with increased traffic pressure expected in the twin cities.
