The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday declared the appointment of the National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (NEECA) Director Strategy Management Sabih Haider illegal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Babar Sattar declared the appointment null and void.
The court also declared ‘illegal’ the newly created post of the director strategy management.
Similarly, it also declared ‘illegal’ the gazette notification, dated March 2024, of an amendment in the NEECA Service Regulations.
The IHC also directed that a copy of the decision be sent to NEECA Board Chairman Awais Leghari.
Apart from that, it also directed the Board to identify those responsible for issuing illegal official gazette.
The judge pronounced a 25-page reserved verdict on a petition filed by NEECA employee Sajjad Hussain, who had challenged the post of Director SMO and the appointment.
