Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reached Iranian capital Tehran on Tuesday to attend a key summit, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Pakistani Ambassador Muhammad Mudassar Tipu welcomed Mohsin Naqvi upon his arrival in Tehran.

Mohsin Naqvi will attend the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) countries’ interior ministers’ meeting in Tehran.

This is the first meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization countries’ interior ministers.

During his visit, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is expected to meet with the Iranian leadership.

Interior Secretary Khurram Agha also arrived in Tehran last evening.

The minister had also visited Tehran in mid-July this year to take part in a trilateral meeting of the interior ministers of Iran, Pakistan, and Iraq.

The ECO Interior Ministers’ meeting is being held today, October 28, 2025, at the Summit Hall in Tehran. Alongside the ECO member states, representatives from several regional countries — including the Republic of Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman — as well as regional organizations, are attending the event as guests.

During his visit, Minister Naqvi will also meet with Ali Larijani, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

The talks will mainly focus on strengthening the security partnership between the two nations, enhancing strategic cooperation to preserve regional stability, and reinforcing their positions in today’s diplomatic landscape.

Both sides are also expected to discuss ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in political, security, and economic spheres, and to expand coordination on regional issues.
