The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has decided to compile a comprehensive nationwide online database of doctors and medical professionals to improve coordination, planning, and policy-making in the healthcare sector, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.

According to official documents, the PM&DC has sought updated information from doctors and healthcare experts nationwide to establish a comprehensive database for medical professionals.

Doctors have been instructed to provide details of their current hospitals, colleges, or affiliated institutions as part of the data collection process.

The council stated that the initiative aims to develop a centralized and reliable database that will help assess the distribution and availability of doctors throughout the country.

The move is also intended to facilitate effective communication and ensure the equitable distribution of healthcare resources, officials said.

“The database will support the creation of a new system for assisting doctors based on their professional needs and enable swift and coordinated responses during public health emergencies,” the PM&DC added.

The compiled data will also be used to enhance health policy-making and improve the overall quality of healthcare services nationwide.

The PM&DC has urged doctors not to share their usernames or passwords with anyone and warned that the council does not request personal details, OTPs, or login credentials via SMS or WhatsApp.

It further advised professionals to trust only messages or communications received through the official PM&DC website or email channels.
