Pakistani youtuber and social media personality Rajab Butt under social media scrunity over his visit to the family of late toddler Aizal has taken another turn, with the child’s mother claiming that the YouTuber did not provide her family with any financial assistance during his visit.
A viral video circulating on social media features Aizal’s mother addressing claims about Rajab’s alleged support for the family. She strongly denied that the YouTuber had helped them financially, insisting that his visit was primarily for content.
In the video, she said, “Only one TikToker came, Rajab Butt, and I don't know where, but I heard somewhere that he claimed he helped them off-camera. Now, I usually don't swear an oath, but I swear under oath and say that he did not help even a single rupee. They came purely and solely for their own vlog, did what they had to do, and left.”
In essence, Aizal’s mother claimed that Rajab had not helped the family with even a single rupee and alleged that his visit was made for the purpose of recording content for his vlog.
The remarks have added a fresh layer to the ongoing discussion surrounding Rajab’s visit, which had already attracted considerable attention on social media. Rajab had visited Aizal’s grieving mother in Karachi and publicly expressed support for the family’s demand for justice. He also called for strict action against those responsible for crimes against children.
The visit came amid intense online scrutiny of Rajab following the resurfacing of an old TikTok Live clip in which he made an inappropriate joke involving child sexual abuse. The remarks triggered widespread backlash, after which the YouTuber issued a public apology and acknowledged that the comment was unacceptable.
Following his visit to Aizal’s mother, Rajab also addressed criticism that his involvement in the case was motivated by the controversy surrounding his own remarks. In a vlog, he rejected the suggestion that he had visited the family merely to repair his public image, saying he had spoken about the tragedy and prayed for the family before other social media personalities became involved.
Rajab further questioned critics who, according to him, had not visited Aizal’s mother in the weeks following the tragedy but later criticised his own visit.
However, Aizal’s mother’s latest statement has now brought renewed attention to the nature of Rajab’s visit. Her remarks directly challenge any suggestion that he provided financial assistance to the family, while her claim that he came primarily for his vlog has sparked fresh discussion across social media.
