Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan has showered heartfelt praise on Urwa Hocane for her powerful portrayal of Beena in the recently concluded drama serial ‘Aap Ki Izzat’, calling the role seemingly destined for the actress.
As Aap Ki Izzat reaches its conclusion, Urwa Hocane shared a series of pictures on Instagram along with a heartfelt note reflecting on her journey with the drama and thanking the people who contributed to its success.
Reacting to her post, Mahira Khan left a warm and deeply appreciative comment, praising Urwa for bringing Beena to life with remarkable honesty and emotional depth.
“Dearest Urwa, Beena was written in the stars for YOU. How honestly and beautifully you portrayed her. My God... it’s been a pleasure to see you perform. You were both serene and powerful. And those eyes... Mash Allah, Mash Allah. Soooo much love,” Mahira wrote.
Mahira’s heartfelt words quickly caught the attention of fans, particularly as Urwa’s portrayal of Beena has remained one of the most discussed aspects of the drama throughout its run.
In her Instagram post, Urwa expressed gratitude to the creative team behind Aap Ki Izzat, including producers Momina Duraid and Nina Kashif, writer Umera Ahmed and director Saif-e-Hassan.
The actress also acknowledged her co-stars Ahsan Khan and Sania Saeed, expressing appreciation for the experience of working alongside them and saying she “couldn’t have asked for better co-stars.”
Urwa’s character Beena has resonated strongly with viewers for challenging conventional portrayals of the submissive daughter-in-law. Rather than quietly accepting situations that compromise her dignity, Beena’s journey placed considerable emphasis on self-respect, emotional strength and the complexities of marital relationships.
Her performance alongside Ahsan Khan, who played Tabish, became a major talking point as audiences followed the couple’s emotionally charged relationship throughout the drama.
Written by Umera Ahmed and directed by Saif-e-Hassan, Aap Ki Izzat has generated considerable discussion around marriage, communication, personal boundaries and societal expectations.
