The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in talks with former Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait and ex-New Zealand cricketer Martin Guptill for coaching roles in the national team setup, reported 24NewsHD TV.
According to sources, the PCB is considering the appointment of foreign consultants to strengthen the coaching staff of the national cricket team.
Sources said the board is holding discussions with Shaun Tait for the bowling consultant role. Tait previously served as Pakistan’s bowling coach during the 2022-23 season and was also associated with the Bangladesh cricket team recently.
However, Tait was reportedly unable to commit to a permanent coaching position across all three formats due to family commitments.
Meanwhile, the PCB is also in talks with former New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill for the position of fielding consultant and there are strong chances of the board reaching an agreement with Guptill.
The developments come after Ashley Noffke resigned from his position, following which the PCB advertised the post of bowling coach.
The board had also advertised the position of fielding coach a few weeks ago as part of its efforts to restructure the national team’s coaching setup.
