The Punjab government has granted an exemption to private companies to procure wheat through the e-system due to technical glitches in the government system, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The Punjab government has also approved selected private companies and ensured their safety and management.
The provincial government allocated a wheat procurement quota of 30,00,000 in the Wheat Policy 2026.
A document released in this regard stated that the government e-procurement system failed to issue the names of successful companies.
Due to technical faults in the government system, the approval letters were issued through mail and e-mails.
The process of bids and selection of companies was completed through the e-procurement system.

This follows an issue involving a technical glitch in the official system during wheat procurement in Punjab; the government has granted formal administrative protection to preliminary approval letters issued to selected private companies outside of the e-system.
