South Punjab Women's T10 Champions League 2024 begins

The South Punjab Women’s T10 Champions League 2024 kicked off with a stellar performance from the Kinnaird College Lahore team, securing victory in the opening match against the Tareen Cricket Academy. Chasing the target in just 8 overs, they clinched the win by 7 wickets, showcasing their talent and determination on the field.

The Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. Andrew Schofer, expressed his excitement about witnessing the talented young women cricketers at the event. He remarked, "I am impressed with the talent and passion of these women playing here today." His enthusiasm highlighted the anticipation surrounding the T20 World Cup 2024, with the USA hosting its first-ever World Cup.

Lodhran Pilot Project (LPP), in collaboration with Tareen Cricket Academy (TCA) and Kinnaird College Lahore, proudly hosted a Women's Exhibition Cricket Match on April 27th, 2024. The event, held at Kinnaird College Lahore, marked the unveiling of the trophy for the South Punjab Women's Champions League 2024 and the commencement of the countdown for the T20 World Cup 2024. Distinguished guests, including US Consulate Counsel Generals (CGs) from Peshawar, Lahore, and Karachi, alongside President LPP and owner of Multan Sultans, Mr. Ali Khan Tareen, graced the occasion, emphasizing the event's significance in promoting grassroots sports.

“The unveiling of the trophy for the South Punjab Women's Champions League 2024 symbolized a milestone in promoting women's cricket and recognizing the achievements of female athletes in the region and also served as an inspiration for new talent. We are committed to provide full support to girls cricket and make safe sauces for women specially in South Punjab” Ali Khan Tareen shared during the event.

Dr. Abdul Saboor, CEO of Lodhran Pilot Project, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "We are thrilled to host this Women's Exhibition Cricket Match and unveil the trophy for the South Punjab Women's Champions League 2024. This event not only highlights the talent and dedication of female cricketers but also underscores our commitment to promoting women's empowerment through sports."
