Punjab Minister for Industry and Trade and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Parliamentary Leader in the Punjab Assembly (PA) Chaudhry Shafay Hussain said on Wednesday that work on development projects in the province was going on at a fast pace, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Presiding over the PML-Q’s parliamentary party meeting in the PA, he said that a large number of people were benefitting from the development schemes initiated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
He informed that an MRI machine would be installed at the Government Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital, Gujrat at the cost of Rs250 million this year. “In this connection, I have got an approval from the Punjab government,” he added.
The minister said that the issue of shortage of medical staff at the hospital would also be addressed. “Last year, machinery worth Rs6 million was installed at the hospital,” Shafay informed.
He went on to say that parks and schools had been upgraded in Gujrat, while work on several development projects worth billions of rupees was underway at a brisk pace.
The minister claimed that never during the last 15 years as many projects were completed in the city as during the last two and a half years.
He said that the PML was the founder of Pakistan, and it would be organized and strengthened at each and every level. “The party will enthusiastically participate in the general elections to be held in Gilgit-Baltistan,” he announced.
Shafay urged the party MPAs to remain in close touch with the masses and focus on the resolution of their issues.
Progress made on development schemes in the province, elections in GB and party matters came under discussion during the meeting.
