The son of former international cricketer Naveed Latif was allegedly assaulted by a group of unidentified youths in Sargodha, with police yet to arrest the suspects.
According to Naveed Latif, his son Muhammad Rohan was on his way to make a purchase when he was intercepted by a group riding a motorcycle.
The assailants reportedly stopped his vehicle, forcibly pulled him out, and subjected him to physical torture before fleeing the scene.
Rohan was left injured following the attack, after which a case was registered by the police. However, no arrests have been made so far.
Speaking on the incident, Naveed Latif claimed that the accused continue to issue threats, creating an atmosphere of fear for his family. He said the situation has become so serious that his children are unable to attend school.
The former cricketer has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take immediate notice of the incident and ensure the prompt arrest of those involved.
