The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has announced the postponement of the upcoming polio vaccination campaign in nine districts of Punjab due to the worsening flood situation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Friday.

According to the NEOC, the campaign has been postponed in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Multan, Muzaffargarh, and Bahawalpur. Similarly, the drive will also not take place in Rawalpindi, Attock, Mianwali, Faisalabad, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

However, the campaign will continue as per schedule in Rajanpur and Rahim Yar Khan, while in other parts of the country, it will begin from September 1.

The NEOC urged parents to ensure children under five years receive polio drops during the campaign and appealed for public cooperation with vaccination teams.
