Federal Bureau of Statistics has released new data on sugar prices, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The maximum price of sugar remains at Rs 195 per kg, and the citizens of Karachi are forced to buy the sugar at the most expensive rate across the country. The average rate of sugar increased by Rs 25 in a week across the country.
According to the Statistics Department, the average price of sugar in the country has increased to Rs 181.59 per kg; the average price of sugar till last week was Rs 181.34 per kg.
In comparison to last year, the average price of sugar was Rs 143.09 per kg in the country. The maximum price of sugar in Punjab is up to Rs 190 per kg.
