Former MPA of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Naeem Ibrahim faced another setback on Thursday as he was detained for 30 days by the district administration, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Ibrahim, who had a case registered against him in the anti-corruption police station for occupying the area adjacent to the camp, was produced in court today.

The court discharged him from the case after hearing the arguments of the defence lawyers.

However, instead of releasing him, the district administration ordered his detention for a month under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) ordinance.

Ibrahim's supporters, who had gathered outside the court to welcome him with flowers and slogans, were shocked by the decision and protested against it.

They claimed that Ibrahim was being victimized for political reasons and demanded his immediate release.
