Cases of Super Flu (Influenza AH3) have been reported in the Rawalpindi division, prompting health authorities to heighten surveillance, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.

According to the health department, the situation remains under control, and the spread is currently limited.

As many as 22 suspected patients were screened during the current month in the division, out of which four cases were confirmed positive for the Super Flu AH3 virus.

Of these, three patients were reported from Rawalpindi, while one case emerged from Murree.

Officials said that all patients diagnosed with the Super Flu have fully recovered after receiving timely medical treatment.

They said that the Health Department has placed the virus under strict monitoring due to the severe nature of the AH3 strain.

"Contact tracing of close contacts of confirmed patients was carried out, during which one secondary positive case was identified."

Despite this, officials emphasized that the spread of the virus in the Rawalpindi district is currently limited.

The Health Department has urged citizens to adopt precautionary measures to prevent further transmission of the virus.

People have been advised to maintain physical distance in case of flu-like symptoms, wash their hands regularly, and ensure proper cleanliness and hygiene.
