The district administration has further extended Section 144 across Rawalpindi city until December 31, according to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema.
The notification states that a complete ban has been imposed on all kinds of gatherings and rallies during the enforcement period. It further adds that the use of loudspeakers and the display of weapons have also been prohibited.
The extension of Section 144 has been enforced in the interest of maintaining law and order, the notification said.
