Persistent rain in Rawalpindi forced the Pakistan Super League organisers to cancel the match between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi to be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
It is only the second time in five season of the PSL that a match has been abandoned due to rain. The previous one was in 2018 at Sharjah when match between Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings had been rained off.
Both teams have been awarded one point each. Multan Sultan are currently leading the table with eight points in five matches. Quetta Gladiators are second with six points after five matches and they are followed by Islamabd United and Peshawar Zalmi on third and fourth spot with five points each after five matches but United are ahead on better net run rate.
Karachi Kings are fifth with two points as they have carved out one win in three outing so far while Lahore Qalndars are cemented to the last place as usual having lost all three matches they played so far and are yet to take a point in the current PSL season.
