Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moqadam said that Iran was not afraid of US, adding that Tehran does not want war but Iranian nation will defend itself against the h aggression, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Talking to media in Islamabad, Reza Amiri several countries were are in contact with Iran and they wanted to stop the war. He said Tehran was grateful to Pakistan for its support and efforts to stop the war so far.
Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam Thursday has expressed hope that war will not break out between Iran and United States, adding “We do not want war; however, we are prepared for our defense. We do not ask Pakistan or any other country to enter a war in our support.”
Reza Amiri Moghaddam was addressing a media briefing organized by the embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran. While addressing a large audience the Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, reiterated that there is still hope that war will not happen.
“We do not want war, the Iranian ambassador added;but we are ready to defend ourselves. We will not accept American coercion and bullying. We do not ask Pakistan or any other country to join a war in our support; we only ask them to continue fulfilling their responsibilities. Elaborating further Reza Amiri Moghaddam noted that, Our friends may support us in whatever way they wish, but we will not go to anyone asking for help.
Responding to a question regarding threats by the by US President Trump to target Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, and Iran’s possible response of targeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Iranian ambassador clarified that Iran has no intentions against any head of state. Under international law, no head of state can be targeted; threatening or attempting to assassinate any head of government is a violation of international law. The U.S. President Trump’s threat against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei is shameful, Amiri added further.
The Iranian ambassador said that in the event of war, there has been no discussion with Pakistan regarding a possible influx of refugees. He added that Iran is trying to avoid war, but the success of these efforts is 50 percent in Iran’s hands and the remaining 50 percent depends on the opposing party. He expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support and its efforts to prevent war.
Reza Amiri Moghaddam clarified that those arrested during protests in Iran—terrorists, saboteurs, and US and Israeli agents—will be dealt with strictly in accordance with Iranian law. He renewed Iran’s support for the mutual defense pact between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed his support for any possible Muslim alliance.
Talking about recent protests in Iran, Ambassador Reza Amiri said that Iranian media exposed 12 day conspiracy against Iran in the form of protest which had erupted in favor of cut in inflation. He said that on the demands of the protestors the government took several steps to curb inflation.
He said that on December 28 protest started in Iran against inflation which include Tehran and other cities and the government held talks with them.
Iranian Ambassador claimed that US and Israel tried to give a different color to these protests. The protesters demanded stability in the market and relief measures. By then, the protesters were holding pictures of the Supreme Leader and Iranian flags. Senior Iranian officials recognized the people's right to protest.
Iranian Ambassador said Iran govt accepted the demands of these peaceful protesters. The Supreme Leader also directed to resolve the problems of the protestors. This was the first time that representatives of Iranian protesters were invited to a cabinet meeting. The cabinet meeting discussed the resolution of their problems.
Reza Amiri said on December 31, the Zionist Israeli Prime Minister's statement on the protests came out while on January 2, the US President's statement came out that we are ready to intervene, which was a signal to the protesters.
He said then US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's tweet came out in which he admitted the connection between the protesters and the Mossad.
After that, the peaceful protests turned into violent activities. The public and government property and lives were targeted in this violence. Public property, police stations and mosques were burnt. These violent acts were not related to peaceful protesters. All types of weapons, including modern weapons, were used in the violent activities.
To prove it a documentary video was shown prior to the briefing on the recent protests and sabotage under the guise of protests in Iran. The documentary video shows malicious elements hijacking the protests and turning them into sabotage activities.
Iranian envoy said Supreme Leader Ali Khamanei also described the American and Israeli conspiracies during his speech in Qom. Ayatollah Khamenei justified the protesters' demands and directed negotiations. After that, measures were taken to calm the protesters. However, on January 8, protesters and violent elements started mischief.
Various Western-sponsored channels outside Iran incited provocations and incited protesters to use weapons. On January 9, the government and people of the country held large rallies in support of the government. The US president then tweeted that help was coming. The miscreants seized government and administrative offices. They were instructed to target police and security forces.
He said a large number of attacks were carried out on security forces and police. 2497 civilians and ordinary citizens lost their lives. More than 3117 security forces and police personnel were martyred. While 690 terrorists were killed. 305 ambulances and buses, 24 gas stations were destroyed in violent and terrorist attacks.
700 convenience stores, 300 private homes and 750 banks were targeted in terrorist attacks. Violent mobs destroyed 414 government buildings and 749 police stations. 120 Basij centers, 200 schools and 350 mosques were targeted in terrorist incidents. 15 libraries, 2 Armenian churches and 253 bus stations were destroyed in terrorist attacks.
