All environmental samples collected for polio surveillance in Lahore have tested negative, marking a significant development in the province’s ongoing efforts to eradicate the disease.

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir congratulated the health department and frontline teams on the encouraging results. He said that all six environmental polio samples taken from different locations in Lahore district were found negative, describing the outcome as a matter of great satisfaction.

“The negative results of these samples are an encouraging development and reflect the effectiveness of our coordinated strategy,” the minister said. He credited the achievement to the tireless efforts of frontline polio workers, partner institutions, and continuous monitoring under a well-coordinated plan.

Khawaja Imran Nazir said the progress represents a strong and decisive step toward the complete eradication of polio in line with the health vision of Punjab Chief Minister. “We will continue our efforts with full strength, determination, and consistency until the last case of polio is eliminated,” he added.
