As the sugar crisis intensifies in Pakistan, an official document has revealed that 67 Pakistani sugar mills exported sugar worth $400 million between July 2024 and June 2025.
According to an official document, JDW Sugar Mills was the highest exporter of sugar during the aforementioned period as it exported more than 73 million kilograms of sugar in the last one year.
Tandlianwala Sugar Mills has been the second highest exporter of sugar during this period. It exported around 41.5 million kilograms of sugar in the last 12 months.
Hamza Sugar Mills exported around 32.5 million kilograms of sugar in 12 months.
Thal Industries Corporation Limited exported more than 29 million kilograms of sugar in one year.
Al-Moeez Industries exported more than 29.5 million kilograms of sugar in last one year.
Ramzan Sugar Mills, which is owned by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s son Salman Shehbaz, exported sugar worth Rs2.41 billion in one year.
There are reports that Salman Shehbaz owns another sugar mill, Alarbia Sugar Mills. Reports suggest Alarbia Sugar Mills exported 8,264 metric ton sugar worth Rs1.20 billion in 12 months.
