Pakistani host Adnan Faisal has reignited the ongoing controversy after claiming to reveal the identity of the actor he alleges mocked veteran star Syed Mohammed Ahmed on a drama set.
Sharing a video in collaboration with his podcast platform, FHM Pakistan, Adnan Faisal alleged that the actor seen in behind-the-scenes footage was Fahad Sheikh. The video included behind-the-scenes clips from what appeared to be a drama set, where Fahad Sheikh was allegedly seen making remarks about Mohammed Ahmed's appearance while several others present laughed.
Reacting to the footage, Adnan Faisal strongly criticised what he described as disrespectful behaviour towards a senior artist. He questioned how anyone would react if similar remarks were made about their own parents, arguing that mocking an elder's appearance, age or personal belongings should never be considered acceptable, even as a joke.
According to Adnan, the remarks allegedly made in the video included comments about Mohammed Ahmed's baldness, weight, financial background and leather bag. He said such behaviour reflected a lack of respect for a veteran actor who has dedicated decades to Pakistan's entertainment industry.
Adnan further urged those he believes were involved to publicly apologise to Syed Mohammed Ahmed, the entertainment industry and the public. He also warned that failing to address the controversy could result in continued criticism from audiences and members of the media.
The video quickly gained widespread attention on social media, attracting reactions from celebrities and fans alike. Host Maya Khan commented that she was "speechless", while Adnan Faisal wrote, "We should respect our elders." Actress Hira Soomro also expressed her disappointment, saying that good upbringing is just as important as talent in the entertainment industry.
The footage also appeared to show actor Faizan Sheikh present during the alleged incident, with some social media users claiming he was laughing as the remarks were made. This prompted several users to criticise his reported involvement and call for an apology from everyone they believe participated in the alleged mockery.
Meanwhile, some social media users also claimed that comments on Fahad Sheikh's official Instagram account had been limited or disabled following the controversy. However, the reason for any changes to the account has not been publicly confirmed.
