Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi said on Wednesday that no one could prevent Pakistan's water from flowing, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to the channel report, he strongly criticised India during his address to the media at the annual Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai in Matiari.
The governor said that even "no one's father" could stop the flow of water and claimed that India had no standing to do so.
He added that Field Marshal General Asim Munir would not hesitate for a moment to ensure that the needs of the people of Pakistan were met.
Referring to the water dispute, Governor Nehal Hashmi said India had revived memories of Karbala by attempting to stop water.
He added that India should also remember who emerged victorious at Karbala and urged it not to repeat what he described as the same mistake.
Commenting on the case of Priya Kumari, the governor said she was like the daughter of every Pakistani and appealed for patience, saying that state institutions should be given time to recover her.
Hashmi also praised former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, saying he had stood by the people during difficult times.
He credited Sharif with efforts to end organised criminal activity in Sindh and to help restore peace in Karachi following years of terrorism.
The governor said Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai remained a guiding figure for people around the world, adding that his teachings promoted peace, love and brotherhood.
He urged the people of Sindh, a province he described as the land of Sufis and peace-loving communities, to follow Bhittai's message of harmony and mutual respect.
