Minister of State for Interior Senator Talal Chaudhry has expressed gratitude to the Spanish counterpart Marlaska Grande for support and cooperation in arrest of two most-wanted Pakistani criminals who had fled to Spain after committing heinous crimes.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday, the suspects, Nawaz Ali Hanjrah and Haroon Iqbal, were wanted in the country for terrorism, murder, and kidnapping for ransom.
Nawaz Ali Hanjrah is involved in 23 criminal cases, while Haroon Iqbal is wanted in several cases.
Spanish authorities facilitated Pakistani officials in their arrest after Interpol Red Notices. The suspects will be handed over to Pakistan after legal procedures are completed.
Spanish authorities took this action after Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, visited Spain. During his visit, he met the Spanish Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, and requested action on Interpol notices for the arrest of 38 wanted Pakistani suspects hiding in Spain.
Officials said that the Spanish minister had ordered immediate action, which led to the arrest of the two suspects.
