Snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullivan has officially married his long-time partner, Footballers' Wives star Laila Rouass, in a heartfelt and symbolic ceremony held in East London.
The 48-year-old world champion shared the happy news with fans on social media, confirming the couple, who first began dating in 2012, have finally made it official.
“We finally made it official!! Mr & Mrs O’Sullivan,” Ronnie posted, alongside a smiling photo of the couple on their wedding day.
Laila Rouass, 53, who has Moroccan and Indian heritage, revealed the ceremony took place on historic Cable Street in Shadwell, the very place she was born and raised. The actress explained their choice was deeply personal and rooted in her cultural and political identity.
“Ok… so it wasn’t Venice… that was fully booked,” she joked in her Instagram caption. “It was Cable Street in Shadwell, where I was born and where my heart belongs.”
Laila reflected on the symbolism of the location, referencing the Battle of Cable Street in 1936 when East End locals, including the Jewish community, stood together to oppose fascism.
“The East End is the land of the immigrants. Its vibrancy, diversity and working-class roots is something I treasure,” she wrote.
“I was born there, I was educated there, today I was married there and I will be buried there because my roots are my roots.”
The couple, known for their on-and-off relationship, got engaged in 2013 but called off the engagement in 2022. Their recent reconciliation now marks a new chapter in their 12-year love story.
