Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has shared an emotional and deeply personal statement after her younger sister, Rimsha Iqbal, opened up about the traumatic experiences their family endured following the sudden death of their father.
Taking to Instagram, Momina posted a heartfelt note alongside a screenshot of her sister’s recent podcast remarks, expressing regret over the hardships her loved ones have faced because of her public life.
“Being a media person or a celebrity was never easy,” she wrote. “I endured so much throughout my life, always fearing what people would say. I stayed silent through countless injustices because I knew it would become breaking news and turn into a public spectacle.”
The actress said that although her career gave her strength, it also became a source of suffering for those closest to her.
“Since my father passed away, these last two years have been nothing but a test. Only my family and Allah know the pain we have lived through. I held my father in my arms as he took his last breath. After witnessing something so heartbreaking, do they really think they can frighten us with death, humiliation, or disgrace? Allah is the One who delivers true justice,” she wrote.
Momina also apologized to her younger sister and family for the pain they had endured.
“I am so sorry, my baby sister, and to my entire family. I ask for your forgiveness because all of you have suffered simply because I chose to be a media person,” she added, affirming her faith that justice would ultimately prevail.
In another story, the actress hinted that she could one day publicly reveal more details.
“Who all will you manage to buy? Time will tell, In Sha Allah. God forbid the day comes when I have to lay out the entire truth with evidence before the whole world. I will name every single person then, In Sha Allah. Allah is my witness,” she wrote.
Momina’s response came shortly after a viral podcast clip featuring her sister, Rimsha Iqbal, circulated online. In the interview, Rimsha recalled the family's ordeal following their father's sudden death from a cardiac arrest on the second day of Eid.
She revealed that she was in Australia at the time and flew to Pakistan without initially being informed that her father had passed away. According to Rimsha, Momina accompanied their father to the hospital, where she alleged that some people recognized the actress and focused on recording videos instead of respecting the family's grief.
Rimsha further claimed that after her father's body was brought home, people continued filming the family's emotional moments, describing the experience as deeply distressing and disrespectful during one of the most painful periods of their lives.
The sisters' emotional statements have resonated widely on social media, with many users expressing sympathy for the family and calling for greater respect for the privacy and dignity of grieving families during moments of personal loss.
