The widow of a martyred Pakistan Navy officer has joined the service as a commissioned officer, turning personal loss into a story of determination and resilience, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
According to the report, Alveera Hamza, the widow of the martyred Lieutenant Commander Hamza Abid, has successfully obtained a commission in the Pakistan Navy and joined its Information Technology (IT) branch.
Alveera's achievement was further marked by academic excellence, as she was awarded the Commandant Gold Medal during her training.
Her accomplishment has been widely praised as a symbol of courage and commitment to national service.
Speaking about her journey, Alveera said the martyrdom of her husband inspired her to pursue a career in the Pakistan Navy.
She explained that his sacrifice strengthened her resolve to serve the country and follow the path of dedication that he had chosen.
She said wearing a uniform similar to the one worn by her late husband and standing in the same institution was a moment of immense pride for both herself and her daughter.
