At least three people were killed and two others critically injured when a passenger vehicle plunged into a deep ravine near Garhi Dupatta, on the outskirts of Muzaffarabad.
Rescue officials said the accident occurred on the Kai Manja road near Batlian, where the vehicle lost control and fell into a gorge. There were seven passengers on board at the time of the incident.
Emergency responders reached the site promptly and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital, where their condition was reported to be critical.
Authorities said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash, while rescue efforts continued in the area.
In a separate set of incidents in Nawabshah, two more people, including a young child, lost their lives in road accidents.
According to local reports, a collision between two motorcycles in Sakrand resulted in the death of a young man identified as Subedar Magsi, while two others were injured.
In another accident on the National Highway near Qazi Ahmed, a 10-year-old pedestrian was run over by a trailer. The child, identified as Mohsin Mahar, died at the scene.
The bodies of the deceased and the injured were shifted to a taluka hospital. Officials have initiated inquiries into both incidents.
