Prime Minister Imran Khan has commended efforts of the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) in achieving a historic milestone of collecting Rs4,000 billion revenue in any year for the first time ever, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a tweet uploaded on Saturday, the Prime Minister said, “During July-May our collections reached Rs4,143 billion and still counting - 18 percent higher than the same period last year.”

Moreover, the Inland Revenue Enforcement Network of the FBR has stepped up operations against illegal, counterfeit and non-duty paid cigarettes across the country.

In this regard, FBR seized 201 cartons of illegal cigarettes' containing two million cigarettes' during a raid in Samanabad in Faisalabad. In another operation, FBR seized 119 cartons of illegal cigarettes containing more than 900,000 cigarettes during a search of the vehicle in Karachi.
