Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Senator Talha Mehmood started an inquiry against former DG Hajj Saudi Arabia Sajid Manzoor Asadi on corruption charges.
In an exclusive talk to 24News HD TV Channel on Sunday, the minister said the inquiry has been initiated against Manzoor Asadi due to the alleged corruption in medicine and food contracts in Saudi Arabia.
he said the complaints have been received against Sajid Manzoor Asdi and some evidence has also been provided against him in this regard. He clarified that any kind of corruption or negligence is not acceptable during a duty like Hajj.
He said after the inquiry against Manzoor Asadi, if corruption is proven, he will be handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for investigations.
Federal Minister Talha Mahmood also warned the officers of the Ministry of Religious Affairs that any negligence, carelessness and corruption during the Hajj is not acceptable.
Talha said he will conduct an audit during and after the obligatory Hajj and if any officer or employee is found involved in corruption, no pardon will be given to anyone.
The minister also warned the Hajj Assistants on duty that if they will fail to serve the pilgrims during the Hajj, they will be deported at once and Hajj expenses will also be collected from them.
He said he will give certificates of appreciation to the Hajj assistants who will properly pay their duty.
