Pakistan has secured a gold medal at the Asian Masters Weightlifting Championship held in Doha, as veteran weightlifter Rasheed Khan triumphed in the 90kg category, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel on Thursday.
The 50-year-old lifted a combined total of 170 kilograms — 80kg in the snatch and 90kg in the clean and jerk — securing the top spot on the podium.
Another Pakistani athlete, Abdul Malik, earned a bronze medal in his category. The 51-year-old lifted a total of 193 kilograms — 93kg in the snatch and 100kg in the clean and jerk. Pakistan's medal tally reaches three with two gold and one bronze medal.
